Private Records - Can mine be private? and Requests for Private Information
Many people are responsible for entering data. They are asked not to enter data for any living individual b. after 1936 unless they have permission to do so. We also receive data from family members asking to add data. For any person less than 70 yaers old, where no date of death is known, they are assumed living and only their name will show to non-members.

If you are in the records, but prefer all information to be switched to private, please use the Technical Help form (found under HELP). Include your full name (maiden if female) and record ID. You may also ask that only your name be displayed.

This site uses protocols from sitemaps.org to help change page titles from full name to private in a more timely manner. This is a newer process and still isn't as reliable as we'd like, so there is no guarantee on how long it will take your name to be removed from the various search engines.

If you find a record marked as private, please contact the administrator for details. We will only give out information if the person asking for his/her records to be switched to private has given us permission to do so.

We will not remove obituaries simply because they contain names of living individuals. By running an obituary, the information becomes public.
Downloading GEDCOMs
GEDCOM downloads in PhpGedView are refeared to as "Clippings Cart"

While you are viewing an individual or a family, to the right you will see a small box. Click on "Other" to access the clippings cart for that individual or family.

From any page, click on Family Tree Clippings Cart. From there you will need to enter the individual ID or the family ID. It also allows you to search for the ID.
Corrections and Additions
If you have corrections to existing data or would like more data entered, please use the Technical Contact form found under HELP.
Sources
Our sources are confidential. Many include phone numbers and other confidential information. Some records may contain non-confidential sources in the notes (NOTES tab) and/or attached documents (MEDIA tab).
Photos
You are free to save copies of photos found on this site for non-commercial use only.

If you have a photo you would like displayed at this site, please use the contact form under HELP to contact the site administrator. We will not accept any photos where a copyright is implied or stated.
Membership - Main Site
Please be advised that the only advantage of membership to the main body of this website is the ability to edit and/or add data.

Membership to We're Coming To America, aka coplien.com is restricted to people with direct ancestral ties to the early settlers of Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. For most lines, only one family member will be accepted as an editor.

Note: If you are related to one of the WI/IL lines that originate from the colonies, even though your ancestor did not move to the IL/WI Stateline area, you may also apply for membership. Since those lines have so many descendants, more than one editing member "may" be accepted. When requesting membership, please state the family record that you plan to either add to or edit.

If you wish to become a member editor, please follow the login link. You will need to state who your ancestors are and why you would like to become and editor.

Before adding people and/or families all editors will be required to send the information to the site administrator for prior approval. No changes may be made to existing data without prior approval of the site administrator.

In the future we will be setting up family groups (private forums) in our forum section but will still restrict edit privileges to the genealogy database as described above.
