Joseph was a native of Ireland but came to Tennessee, USA. For a biography of Hugh Curren, brother to Jesse Curren, see History of Marion County, Ohio (Leggett, Conway & Co, 1883, pp 1017). Jospeh came to America with his father when four years old, and in 1809 came to Marlborough Twp, Delaware Co. In 1814 he moved to near Waldo Mills, where he resided until 1835, and then moved to Marlborough Twp where he bought 203 acres of land. EUNICE MARINDA GATTSHALL and David A Curren had seven sons. Son Jesse married Eva Carpenter & had two daughters: Doris & Juanita. Son Leonard D Curren married Leona Klingel and had two children: Vonda Curren Benedict; and Harold; and Orr who married Lenore Lober. His son Arthur Curren had children in Cleveland, Ohio. The 7th son William R Curren married Vivian Shaw and lived in Waldo, Ohio. His son RichardCurren married Elizabeth Buford. Richard's son Rodger lives in San Diego & married Mary Parron. Rodger s sons are David and Stephen. Eunice Marinda Gattshall was the fourth and youngest child of Phillip Gattshall/Maria Barry . Phillip Gattschall was b. 18 Oct 1815 in Lancaster Co., PA. He was married to Maria Barry b y Rev Clymer. He was a farmer who belonged to the United Brethren Church. He farmed in Richla nd Twp., OH., and died at his home 18 June 1880, in Marion Co., OH. The grandparents of Eunice were Daniel Gattshall/Hanna Dunkelberger. Daniel (b. 10 Jan 1789 ; d. 9 Sep 1874; m. 1822) farmed in Westfield Twp; Delaware Co., OH. The great grandparents of Eunice were Ludwig Gattshall/Maria Barbara Haehn. They were marrie d 9 May 1784 in Lancaster, PA. Ludwig was born 14 Feb 1753 at Hemfield in Lancaster Co., PA . He died 2 Mar 1799. The great-great-grandparents of Eunice were Peter Gattshall (b. 1722)/Catharina Morin. Pete r came to America, from Baden-Baden, Germany in 1747, after which he married Catharina.
