Obituary 1912, Orangeville Illinois Death of Mrs. Sarah Bobb The report of the death of Mrs. Sarah Bobb came as a great shock to many of our resident's early Tuesday morning as many did and know she was seriously ill. Mrs. Bobb has been in poor health for some time, soon after her return in the spring from her trip to California she was taken ill, and at that time she suffered a slight stroke of paralysis. She recovered from the sickness so far that she was able to be about but at times she suffered servere pains in her head. For some time past she had been feeling better and was down town last Thursday. Some time Monday beforenoon she was stricken with Apoplexy and when her grand-daughter returned home from school at noon she found Mrs. Bobb lying on the bed in almost unconscious condition. Help was summoned but she grew gradually worse till death relieved her at midnight. The deceased was born in Spring Mills, Pa., July 7, 1843, and at the time of her death was aged 69 tears, 5 months and 2 days. She was a daughter of Henry Miller and wife, early settlers of this county and at an early age she came west with her parents for a mumber of years lived on what is now the Raber farm south west of Orangeville. Mr. Miller died Sept. 27, 1881 and Mrs. Miller passed away Oct. 28, 1904. On Jan. 20, 1863, Mrs. Bobb was married to Lieut. I.M. Bobb, who was home on furlough. In 1867 they moved onto the Old Bobb homestead 2 miles west of Orangevill where they lived until they moved to Orangeville in the spring of 1901. Soon after moving to Orangeville Mr. Bobb died. The deceased has resided here ever since. Mrs. Bobb was a lady whom everybody was acquainted with. She was of a lind disposition and was always ready to lend a helping hand. She was always intersted in improvements and took a great interst in things that were happening around her. She was a member of Orangevill Rebekah Lodge and of the U.B. Church. She was the mother of five childern, four of whom survive her. Milton, of Taylor, N.Dak.; Alta Snyder, of Corning, Calif.; Archie, of Cedarville; Newton, deceased; Minnie Rudy, of Artesian,S. Dak. There are 12 grand childern. On e sister also survives her, Mrs. L.R. Evans, of Petrel, N. Dak. The funeral will be held Sunday morning at 10:30 at the U.B. Church, Rev. Fry officiating. The Pallbearers will be: Aaron Bender, A.J. Clarno, Ed Rudy, Clate Seidel, Otto Lenz, Jacob Decklar. The Rebekah Lodge will have charge of the servicees at the grave. A quartet composed of Mrs. M.G. Wirsing, Mrs. H.C. Snyder, Deo.S. Wagner and H.U. Hartzell, with Mrs. R.W.Moore as pianist will furnish the music. |
