On 15 Sep 1757, Maria Engel Drum Keller, and John Jacob Keller I were kidnaped in an Indian raid. John Jacob II was only a baby and had not be named yet. Thus his father (Jospeh thinking) John Jacob was dead, named the baby John Jacob II. Maria managed to escape when the indians got drunk on the liquer they had stolen. Maria Engel DRUM (Anna Elisabetha MUMBAUER, Hans Jacob MUMBAUER, Engel Reik FICKEYSEN, Hans Peter FICKEYSEN, Peter) was born 15 Sep 1718 in Ulmet, Pfalz, Germany. She died 22 Apr 1802 in Plainfield, Northampton, PA. Maria married Joseph KELLER II, son of Joseph KELLER and Ms. GUTH, about 1742. Joseph was born 15 Mar 1718 in Schwarzenacher, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. He died 17 Sep 1811 in Plainfield, Northampton, PA. Joseph was eighteen years old, he would soon have to be enrolled as a soldier in Germany, his older brother, and half-brother had both immigrated to America. Therefore he decided to go to America . He sailed from Rotterdam The Netherlands on the ship William, Captain John Carter. The ship carried 180 passengers , and arrived in Philadelphia October 311737. Joseph's older brother emigrated to America and settled in Virginia. Joseph lived originally with his half brother Jacob Guth. |
