Birth | 1786 ![]() Note: Isaac is not confirmed as the son of Jacob Arrived Green Cty WI from LaPorte Cty IN in 1837 Isaac Kline bought 720 acres in Green Co. and at the same time bought 240 acres in Jersey Co. Ill. which is next to St. Louis. Isaac is not confirmed as the son of Jacob but I am sure he belongs within this generation of desc. of Christopher and Catherine Kline. He arrives in the WI/IL Stateline area first and within a few years is joined (in the same township) with numerous relatives. I believe that Henry that moved to Ohio is his brother although this Henry may not be the correct Henry. John Kline, assumed nephew also moves to Stephenson County Illinois. We also find another relative, Peter Walter, his wife the daughter of Catherine Kline went first to Indiana then moved to Rock Run Twsp. IL. We know that Isaac's children were born in Indiana and Ohio. At least one of Peter's brothers also moved to Ohio then Indiana and later to Kansas near the MO border which is where we later find Isaac --- Will of Isaac Kline Decd Be it remembered that I Isaac Kline of Newton County and State of Missouri knowhing that it is appointed unto all men once to die and being in proper mind and memory do hereby instititute and ordain this instrument of writing to be my last will and testament. Revoking of all other wills made by me at any time first I bequeath to John H Philipps the following discribed lands towit: The North East quarter of the South West quarter of Section Twenty nine (29) in Township Twenty Seven (27) of Range (30) West containing Eighty (80) Acres: it being the land I now live upon with all its appurtenaces. To have and to hold the same to the said John H Philipps his heirs and assigns forever. But the fore going bequeath is made upon the express condition that he the said John H Philips is to take care of and furnish me with and my wife Lea[r] Ann Kline a descent support for and during the time of our natural lives to have our washing done and other small favors that may be necessary for us at our advanced ages: Second I bequeath to John Kline Eli Kline Sarah Mires Mary Clemens Katherine Griffin William Kline each one dollar they being my children. Andrew Simmons and W H Lyon the subscribing witnesses to the annexed will and being by me first duly sworn depois and say that Isaac Kline the testator subscribed the same in their presence and published the said will or instrument of writing as his last will: that he the said testator was at the time of publishing his said will of sound mind and more than twenty one years of age and that they the said deponents attested the said will as witnesses there to by subscribingtheir names to the same in the presence of said testater Andrew Simmons W H Lyon In witness whereof I WJJ Morrow Clerk of the county Court of the county and State aforsaid have here unto subscribed my name and affixed the Seal of said court at office in Neosho the 23rd day of October 1865. Not confirmed as son of Christopher History of Green County: pg. 1047 and 1948 Isaac Kline came here from La Porte Co., Ind. He visited the town in the fall of 1836 and purchased his land and made some improvement upon it. Isaac Kline was a man of much energy. He built the first saw mill in this county, which was in operation early in 1839. In 1843 he built the pioneer carding mill. Settled in Spring Grove in the spring of 1837 from LaPorte Co., IN. after coming here in 1836 and buying land and making improvements on it. Came here with two married sons, Eli and Joh, son-in-law, Samuel Myers. |
